As a lover of travel, I quickly realized the need for more information as traveling as a gay woman; this is the primary inspiration for this site. An educator by profession, I certainly don’t have the funds to pop across the pond often, so I also focus on local travel: where to go as a gay person, and where to go with our dog!
I currently live in Columbus with my wife and dog. Columbus is a unique place – a “liberal cocoon,” as my mother once called it – gay friendly and progressive. But, just outside the metro area, we are surrounded by mega-churches, conservatives, and anti-gay billboards. So, where to go?
For my travel page, I share my own experiences, resources we used to plan our trip, and then will rate each location on its gay-friendliness, according to our experience.

Three rainbows:
Affirming place to travel with same-sex partner, and many other queer folks present!

Two Rainbows:
Maybe we weren’t in gay heaven, but at least no one did a double-take at us holding hands.

One Rainbow:
We didn’t feel at risk for physical harm or harassment, but we got some funny looks.
